Happy Valentine’s Day! You are so loved my friend💕
Rather than send you a GIF or sugar filled candies, I’m gonna send you some tools that I use on a consistent basis that help me stay grounded in the midst of chaos and turmoil. Funny enough I randomly chose this post from the archives and it is, of course, perfect for today. Thanks universe!

Our world is…well our world. It’s easy to get caught up in the drama and chaos, to take sides, to harbor hate, and to give everything we have until there’s nothing left to give- especially when things aren’t working out in the way we want them to.
For me, it has been crucial to learn how to feel safe in what appears to be an unsafe world. I use the word “appears” intentionally as there is a serious disconnect between what I see in fear-mongering media and what is actually going on around me.
One self-protective action I’ve taken is being aware of what I’m feeding my brain. I’ve stepped away from 95% of the “news”, unsettling tv shows, and social rants which has helped significantly. Now I see the world that’s around me much more clearly and for what it is.
There are a lot of amazing people out there, doing amazing things. Some are doing “big” things like taking on challenging public positions while others are changing the world more subtly by sharing one unconditional smile at a time. Either way, they are making an impact.
But what happens when you’ve lost your juice?
Ya ain’t got no smiles to give?
And your just pissed off and scared?
When your vessel is empty and you’ve got nothing left to give?
Well, that happens. It’s natural and human. And it’s okay to honor that place for a while but I’ve noticed that the universe hates a void and it’s going to fill up your empty vessel on way or another.
Here’s where choice comes in. You can:
fill your vessel with one negative thing after another, which leads to being overcome with fear, depression, sickness, and hate.
or replace the negative with positive goodies, filling that vessel up with gratitude, love, strength, and ease.
Where would you rather lead your life from? Which world would you rather live your life in? The choice is yours.
Now let’s talk programming.
I’ve had to do a lot of work on myself to reprogram my neural pathways so that choosing to view the more positive perspectives in life is now my default. My journey has encompassed over a decade in 12-Step Recovery programs, in therapy, practicing yoga, using EFT tapping, working with energy healers, all kinds of coaches and shamans, and…. you name it:) But it took experimenting, practicing, and a whole load of patience for the changes to take place within me and then finally with-out me.
So, I’m here to invite you to use everything I’ve learned, every story I’ve shared, and whatever else shows up here to fill your own vessel, find your internal strength and grounding, and change your own world. We’ll all be better for it!
Love ya lots!
