Merry merry and happy happyđ
I love this lantern! Did I buy it? Nope. Did someone give it to me? Nope. So just where did you get that cutie-pie Jenni?
Why, the side of the road of course!
On my way home from the grocery, I saw a table labelled âfreeâ, swung a U-wee, and what did I see? A lamp Iâd had my eye on but wouldnât buy for myself, four pieces of clothing that my closet had been hollering for, and this red lantern.
At first, I thought this was a snow globe. I very quickly discovered that it was a snow globe on steroids! The switch just needed a little jiggle, the batteries needed to be replaced, and voilĂ ! Magic happenedâď¸âď¸â¤ď¸
Iâve carried this little red lantern around with me when I go out. I set it down or hold it high and people of all ages are mesmerized.
I didnât have the energy and resources to do up a big holiday hew-haw this year. And that was okay. The universe delivered something even better. Something I didnât have to put any effort into (a friend jiggle the switch and provided new batteries). Something that I could take out of the house and share with other people in areas where I feel comfortable engaging(Iâm a bit immunocompromised right now). Something that would start conversations, spur on smiles, and bring us all a little light and levity.
All I had to do is keep my eyes open, trust my intuition, and be willing to make that U-turn.
The U-turn was totally worth it!
Happy holidays- love you lots!
