MRI's, MrJames Workshop, & celebrating life!
Hi Darlin!
March is a big month for me. It always has been because it’s my birthday month, but this year it holds even more significance.
This month I find out what’s going on in my body!
If you haven’t been here long, let me catch you up— May 23, I was diagnosed with stage 3an1 rectal cancer. Over the summer I underwent combined chemo and radiation everyday for six weeks. For the next six months I continued on the chemo. I have been chemo free for 51/2 weeks now. MRThe long-awaited MRI is I on Friday- results on Monday. Flexible Sigmoidoscopy next Wednesday so the surgeon can get her eyes on the prize followed by my birthday on Thursday. Consultation with my surgeon on the 24th to determine next steps.
Regardless of what they discover, we will be celebrating my life all month long!
This month also marks the first of our “in the heartlight” multi-media series where we will celebrate the life and work of some of the fantastic humans that I love and respect. Featured this month, my longtime friend and collaborator, Dalton James of MrJames Workshop. Not only will we be talking with him on the podcast, but I will be sharing visual images, text conversations, and his interview follow-up notes.
The prep for a 3-month long multi-location live exhibition of MrJames Workshop Billies paintings is also underway. The fun begins on April 1 with seven of his pieces hanging at seven of my favorite businesses in Eureka Springs for the whole of Diversity Month. More to come on that soon.
