Happy 6th Birthday to my two amazing cats, Sunny & Toast!
Want to send them a birthday present?
Sunny found me when he was one month old- a sick messy loud little dude- who had just been transferred from a kill shelter, where he and his sister were on the list.
I have never regretted taking on these two little wobbly cats who turned out to be some of the strongest and most loving creatures I’ve known.
3 years ago, I started writing about them so you may recognize the story if you’ve been around for that long. But I think it’s definitely worth a repeat :-)
Now, on to the story!
Here we have part 2- if you want to read Part 1 first, head here.

Hello, my lovely!
I have to admit it, I almost didn't send this today. I looked in my photo archive and there were all these great pics/videos of Sunny and Toast! They are all soooooo cute and inspiring that I immediately felt like this project was too big. Then that heavy feeling descended over me and I thought, "you don't have to send it out today."
Lucky for both of us, I was able to calm that feeling by breaking the process down into small steps. First, upload some pics to dropbox so they are accessible. DONE! 2. While waiting, just dip your toe in and start writing. DONE! 3. Hey! It's almost there! Now I'm feeling more inspired and less bogged down! SO LET'S GET TO IT!
The Adventures of Sunny & Toast
When last we saw them, Sunny and Toast were two tiny CH kittens who were thrilled to have been liberated from the isolation ward at APA!. Their human, Jenni, knew immediately that she was going to be a foster fail but couldn't yet admit it to herself because she was still grieving the loss of her two cats- Sammy and McGee. She was also feeling pretty darn crappy about herself because she couldn't find a well-paying job and was still convinced that she wouldn't be able to take care of herself, much less two "disabled" cats. (Yep, that's my brain for you!)
Even though the floors needed rugs and were a little too slippery and the couch was still too high, Sunny and Toast weren't worried. They knew that they had found their forever home and took total advantage of it.
Now all they needed to do was to convince this human that she was capable...
Join us next time as we tell the story of the foster failure and how failing was for the greater good!
See you soon,
Jenni
